Known to Vail locals as English Joe, Joe is a familiar face behind the wood of Vail’s bars. Joe grew up in a small village in England, and cut his teeth crafting cocktails mere feet from the famous Plymouth Gin distillery.

 

He has now been in Vail for 10 years, taking a short hiatus to work in the cocktail hot spot of Portland, Oregon. 

 

Joe spent much of his earlier bartending years absorbing cocktail and liquor books. If you need a personal spirit guide, Joe is your man.

Now, Joe balances his time behind the lens of his camera and behind the bar of Root and Flower. However, he still finds time to float down Colorado’s rivers, where he is truly at home.
